Bitcoin just lost 39% and your 'trust me bro' cousin has gone very quiet in the group chat
It was $126K. Now it's stuck at $76K like a rickshaw in Saddar traffic. Here's what that's done to your stack, in rupees.
Remember last October, when everyone’s cousin was screenshotting Bitcoin at $126K and saying “abhi toh party shuru hui hai”?
Yeah. About that.
Bitcoin started this week stuck at around $76,000 to $77,000. It tried to climb back over $78,000 and just… couldn’t. Like your uncle trying to get up off the floor at a wedding.
The damage report
- All-time high: about $126,200 (6 October 2025)
- A year ago: about $110,500
- A month ago: about $84,800
- Now: about $77,000
That’s about 39% below the peak and about 30% down on the year.
And it’s not just Bitcoin. Ethereum was around $2,250 and Solana around $92 on 3 November.
Why is it stuck?
No single villain this time. It’s more of a group project:
- The big money is leaving. The US Bitcoin and Ethereum funds that big investors use have had more money going out than coming in for weeks.
- The Binance hack. $6.3 billion stolen on 29 October knocked Bitcoin down about 5% that day. Read that mess here.
- Everyone’s waiting for America. The US votes in its midterm elections today, and traders are sitting on their hands until they see who wins.
Right, what’s this done to MY stack?
Say you bought 0.01 BTC right at the top. That’s a pretty normal “small but serious” stack round here.
- At $126K it was worth about $1,260.
- At $77K it’s about $770.
Same coins. About $490 less. That’s roughly Rs 1.4 lakh, or one very awkward conversation with your ammi.
But if you bought a year before the peak, or you’ve been buying a little every month, you might still be up. What you paid matters way more than today’s price. That’s exactly why our Goal Quest calculator asks for your entry price.
Dips feel personal. They’re not. The price is just whatever the last guy paid.
Before you do anything dumb
- Don’t panic sell because the chart is red. Ask yourself if your reason for buying has changed. If it hasn’t, the price alone isn’t a reason.
- Don’t buy just because it’s “cheap” now. It was “cheap” at $84K last month too.
- Only put in what you could lose without telling anyone at home. Still the best rule in crypto.
